Steve grew in up Gibsons, BC on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and began golfing at the age of 14. His background in hockey allowed him to learn the game quickly and he was soon playing at an elite level. He attended Camosun College in Victoria, BC and graduated from their Professional Golf Management Program in 2005. In 2006, Steve became a member of the PGA of Canada and soon after was offered a job at the Capilano Golf & CC.

Over his professional career, Steve has been fortunate to work at some of the premier golf facilities in the Lower Mainland including Richmond Country Club, Northview Golf Academy, and most recently he served as the Head Professional of the Bowen Island Golf Club prior to joining the team at UGC before the 2015 season.
