Meet the Academy and Range Crew
You may know these faces since this team has been at the practice range since 2010, meet Scott, John and Mike
With a sense of great pride, our team continues to strive to make changes for the betterment of our customers. Since last year, in addition to the Practice Range, they now run the Lesson Centre to ensure our Instructors and students have a more convenient option when learning this great game.
Scott - Golf Operations Coordinator
Scott started here at UGC in February of 2010 at the practice range. Scott now oversees our Guest Services, Outside Services, Lessons and Practice Range teams. Getting serious about golf 2 years ago, Scott had a TaylorMade fitting, purchased clubs and is now working on his game. This past year he shot his lowest round of 83 at UGC and continues to golf as much as he can. Scott loves visiting the variety of courses in the lower mainland and has organized golf outings with the UGC team.
His family has added a new puppy, Beatrix, a very cute Bernedoodle, who takes up all of their time. Having two teenage girls has the family always on the go but they love to relax in the garden, when they can, in the quiet town of Ladner. Scott constantly yearns for proper full English in the Lanes of Brighton and hopes to be back soon.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
John - Practice Range Team Member
John started at the Practice Range in February of 2011 and has been a part of the team ever since. Growing up locally on the east side, John played hockey for 12 years. Like most hockey players John gravitated towards golf and after his TaylorMade fitting and club purchase last season, he participated in the golf outings and looks forward to more golf this year. John finished school at Kwantlen, graduating with a Criminology degree. He is now looking into a career in law enforcement, perhaps with Border Services.
Mike - Practice Range Team Member
Mike started at the Practice Range in 2012. Having come from a bowling background, Mike was a part of the B.C. Team that participated in the Junior Nationals. Mike has also participated in the TaylorMade fitting process and continues to lower his score with each round. Mike loves to travel and has visited Paris, New York and Mexico City. Mike plans to travel as much as he can and hopes to take his clubs with him.
